My Last Afternoon in Lower East Side, Manhattan, NYC

On Saturday, December 7th, after I crossed the Williamsburg Bridge from Williamsburg Brooklyn to Lower East Side, Manhattan, I spent the rest of the afternoon in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. See my post on crossing the bridge.

I arrived around 3pm and decided to walk to PT Knitwear Bookstore, Coffee, and Podcast Studio, which was less than a 10 minute walk. I have been to this bookstore so many times already! It is on Orchard St. It has a stage area, turned into a sitting area. It also has a cafe. I have browsed this bookstore so much and read the summaries of so many books. They have an amazing selection of books. I browsed until 4pm and actually got into 2 of the books I was browsing. Then I came back around 5:30pm to browse some more and ended up purchasing the 2 books. I will try to do a post about the event I attended at the bookstore and the books I've purchases there.

From 4 to 5:30pm I walked to Sen Saigon which was a 15 minute walk. I got the weekend special, wonton noodle soup. I asked for less noodles, as usually I don't eat at this time, and I wasn't sure if I could finish it if there were more noodles. The owner said she can add more vegetables instead of noodles. (So cool that I have got to meet the owner most times I went here for lunch.) I asked for spicy and they provided 2 sauces on the side. One was spicy, and the other was tart and sweet. I mixed the sauces in and it tasted sooo delicious. It was so comforting. There was bookchoi, among so many other vegetables in the soup. The wontons were so delicious in the soup. I am going to really miss their noodle soups when I leave NYC. It is the best I have ever had.

While walking from Sen Saigon back to PT Knitwear Bookstore, I made a stop at MooShoes, which is a cruelty free leather shop, located right next Orchard Grocer, a vegan grocery store. I got a few small things.

After leaving the bookstore (the second time), I decided to walk to Urban Dessert Lab. I decided to "make my own" combination and got chocolate ice creme and the signature creme base with a chocolate sauce and sprinkles. The oat milk ice creme was so fluffy and delicious. Every bite had sprinkles and chocolate sauce because they layer it. I had a layer of sprinkles and chocolate sauce on the bottom and top! It's like a dream come true having enough sprinkles and chocolate sauce.

All of my destinations this afternoon mostly required walks on Orchard St. in Lower East Side of Manhattan.

I then walked to the Delancey St - Essex St station, which was very close to Urban Dessert Lab, and took the J train to Crescent St. The train was packed! Then took the shuttle to 75th-Elderts and arrived around 8pm.
