My first destination in exploring New York City was Williamsburg, Brookyln, NY on October 12th. It was a bus ride away from my Airbnb and perfect for my first weekend here. The bus ride took about 40 minutes. See images below of the beautiful day I stepped out into and the Williamsburg bus stop sign.
From Williamsburg Plaza, where I got off, it was a 10 minute walk to Guevaras, a vegan cafe on my list. I walked straight on 4th, and soon I could see the East River. I made a stop at the cafe, which was a part of a supermarket. Then I kept walking toward the water and got to Domino Park. The Domino Sugar building was also there. See image below of the park sign.
The park had artifacts there and there was a wonderful walkway right along the East River. I could see lower Manhattan across the water and I also saw Williamsburg Bridge and Manhattan Bridge. As I walked more along the river, I saw a light blue artifact and an elevated walkway. (It's called an elevated walkway on the park map.) The elevated walkway was really nice and I got to walk close to the Domino Sugar artifact. The weather was crisp and sunny. It was a peaceful Saturday morning walk. I'm glad Williamsburg was my first place of exploration. It was easy to get to and it was the perfect area to walk around. After a while, I continued to my next stop, which was Garden Carver, another vegan cafe. It was an easy walk from the park, and I walked straight on Grand St. See images below of the park.
