Today I went to Sunday C and C Eatery at The Bowery Market for lunch. Because their menu changes, I took a photo of it to remember. See images below. Theirs is the orange stand.
I ordered celery root. See the description in the image above. Wow. It came with celery on the top and the rice was under it. I also included a picture of after I started eating it. This was so delicious and creamy. Everything went so well together in this dish. I wasn't expecting it to be creamy with some umami. There were so many flavors and ingredients that made this a five star dish. It was the best way I have had celery, and it went so well with the garlic rice. The oil was perfect for this too. I'm literally craving this again as I'm writing about it. See images below. I also included the customary empty plate.
I also ordered panisse. This was just as delicious as the first dish I had tried. The bottom had a creamy soup, ajo blanco, which was so tasty. Then it had chickpea cakes. On top of the cakes there was kimchi jam. Then snow mushroom on top. It was garnished with scallions. Wow. Both dishes I tried were so creative and it felt like eating in a five star fancy restaurant. I hope I can go back and try more on their menu. I wish there was a way I could describe the amazingness of this food. I'm sooo glad I went. This is a must try spot. I also love how I could have this delicious food just chilling on a stool at the open market.
