The first part of the post from this day is about having lunch at HAAM. After lunch around 2pm, my friend and I took the J train from Lorimer St. towards Manhattan. I got off at Marcy Ave. I walked less than 10 minutes on Broadway to the Williamsburg Bridge Pedastrian Path. See image below. I also got a cup of coffee from the deli right next to the path.
The incline up was not as bad as it looked, and soon I was walking on the bridge. The weather had calmed down for the afternoon, otherwise it was a pretty chilly day. I got lucky because it was a sunny and beautiful afternoon.
I passed the Domino Sugar building. See my post in October when I visited the Domino Sugar Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The views were wonderful!
There were plenty of people walking, biking and jogging on the pedastrian path. I also passed a religious procession crossing the bridge. See images of the path below.
I saw the J and M trains crossing on the bridge. It was cool to be walking on the same bridge that I had seen multiple times through the window while taking the train.
The entry points both in Brooklyn and Manhattan are also perfect locationwise.
It was such a wonderful walk and it really is doable, so don't get intimidated. It wasn't that much more cold or windy on the bridge compared to ground level. It was actually very comfortable. I had wore layers and had handgloves and a hat. I didn't need to use the handwarmers. The hot cup of coffee was helpful, so I really recommend it.
I completed the walk in about 40 minutes. I would have missed out on a wonderful experience if I hadn't done the walk on the bridge.
